Paddlers to hit the water for Wallaceburg’s 150th

Canoes, kayaks and paddleboards will take over local waterways next month as part of the Wallaceburg Baldoon Paddle Event, a celebration marking the community’s 150th anniversary.

Hosted by the Wallaceburg and District Museum, the event is set for June 29 and promises fun on the water for both competitive and recreational paddlers. A 20-kilometre race will begin at Brander Park in Port Lambton and end at Glasstown Brewing Company in Wallaceburg. For those seeking a more relaxed experience, a five-kilometre recreational loop from Crothers Park will also be offered.

Participants and spectators are invited to gather at Glasstown Brewing Company following the paddle for live music, prize giveaways and post-race festivities.

Organizers say the event is a unique and memorable way to celebrate the town’s milestone. Full details and updates are available through the Wallaceburg and District Museum’s website.
