Jalen Nicole Peters, a member of Walpole Island First Nation, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Windsor Regional Hospital, Ouelette Campus on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the age of 30.
Her spirit name was Ishkode-kwe or Fire Woman.
Jalen was the loving wife and mother of Cody Schuyler and their son Winter Blackbird.
Beloved daughter of Leeann Peters (the late Eric Hunt) and Sam Grey (Sara) and granddaughter of Julie & Tim Stonefish and Dave & Steph Soney. Daughter-in-law of Phylis Schuyler.
Dear sister of Ethan Hunt, Terrence Hunt, Tara Hunt and Avery Grey.
She will be missed by her many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jalen was a devoted mother, She loved spending every moment she could with her family.
She was also a dog mom to Sonny Peters & Luna Schuyler, her fur babies. Jalen also enjoyed her torch cruises to Starbs everyday.
The community is invited to the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Tuesday from 5-8 PM.
The funeral will be celebrated at the Walpole Island Sports Complex on Wednesday, July 16 at 11 AM.

Her battle is over, her burden released,
