Sarnia Police Service officials allege: A 24-year-old man has been charged after a reported robbery and attempted abduction outside a Confederation Street facility in Sarnia on the morning of July 16, 2025.
Police say a silver pickup truck pulled up around 8:39 a.m., and the driver allegedly tried to force a seated man into the vehicle by grabbing the handle of his backpack. A struggle ensued, during which the victim’s phone was taken. The victim managed to break free, and the suspect fled the scene.
Police searched the area without success, but the suspect later turned himself in at 11:30 a.m. and was arrested.
He has been charged with robbery with violence and kidnapping. He was held for a bail hearing and later released with conditions. His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 18, 2025.
