With sad hearts, we share the passing of Wayne Barr, who passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, at the Chatham-Kent Hospice at the age of 75. Surrounded by love, Wayne’s final moments were calm and comforting—just as he lived his life—with quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering love for those closest to him.
Wayne was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife Brenda of 55 years, and their children Jeff (Michelle), Jenna – Deceased who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Wayne was a proud and devoted grandfather to Ryan & Matthew. Also survived by his sister Gwen (Dennis-Deceased), Jim (Judy), Rob-Deceased (Lori), Brother-in-law Jim-Deceased (Deb) and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was raised in Wallaceburg. He attended Wallaceburg High School and later George Brown College where he graduated and worked as a Millwright. He enjoyed coaching hockey and being a member of Kinsmen, K40 and AA.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at the Chatham-Kent Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness.
There will be no service, however there will be a celebration of his life to follow at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Wayne’s memory may be made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
