Education minister extends best wishes as Ontario students return to school

Ontario’s education minister is wishing students, families and educators success as the new school year begins.

Paul Calandra issued a message Tuesday welcoming more than two million students back to class and thanking teachers, staff and parents for their commitment to education.

“The first days of school are always filled with new opportunities, new friendships and new goals,” Calandra said. “Your success is at the centre of everything we do, and I encourage you to take on new challenges with confidence.”

The minister thanked teachers and education staff for their dedication and expertise, saying their work makes schools strong and supportive learning environments. He also praised parents for their involvement, adding that the government is committed to ensuring decisions are made in the best interests of children.

Calandra said the government remains focused on strengthening accountability and transparency in Ontario’s education system and ensuring investments prepare students with practical skills for stable, good-paying careers.

“As we begin the new school year, I want to thank you for your commitment and wish all teachers, staff and students the best of luck,” he said.
