A Ridgetown woman is the winner of a record-breaking jackpot in the St. Clair Catholic Education Foundation’s Back to School 50/50 raffle.
Jennifer Woods claimed the grand prize of $16,665, half of the $33,330 pot — the largest in the foundation’s history. Woods purchased her ticket just days before the draw, choosing to direct proceeds toward St. Michael Catholic School, where her daughter Chloe is in Grade 3/4.
She celebrated the win with her daughter and Chloe’s classmates earlier this week. Woods says she plans to put the money toward building a new home.
The foundation thanked all who took part in the raffle, noting that community support helps fund initiatives that benefit Catholic students across the board.
The next 50/50 raffle, set for the Christmas season, launches in early October.
