James St. Ministries is offering support to local residents this winter through its Share the Warmth outreach program in Wallaceburg.
A group of volunteers has been knitting hats, scarves and mitts, which are now available free of charge in a special mailbox outside St. James Anglican Church at 719 James St. Organizers say the items are intended for anyone in need, and residents are asked to take only what they require so supplies can reach as many people as possible.
The outreach also includes a children’s coat program for families with children between the ages of zero and 13 who need a winter jacket. Families can request assistance by contacting the Mom’s Baby Cupboard page through Facebook Messenger, with volunteers coordinating directly to provide a coat.
James St. Ministries said the initiative is aimed at helping make winter more manageable for local families by offering practical assistance rooted in community care and compassion.
