Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 19-year-old man from Chatham is facing a weapons charge following a disturbance on King Street West on Feb. 14, 2026.
Police said officers on patrol at about 9:15 p.m. observed a group causing a disturbance, following an earlier incident involving the same group. During the interaction, one individual was seen running in the roadway and jumping fences. Police allege he later displayed a knife and ran toward an officer before discarding the weapon.
The accused was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was lodged until sober and later released with a court date of March 16, 2026.
