Chatham-Kent builder earns provincial energy-efficiency award

Maple City Homes Ltd. has been named “Rising Star of the Year” by ENERQUALITY at the 2026 Building Innovation Forum and Awards in Toronto.

The award recognizes builders demonstrating leadership in constructing high-performance, energy-efficient homes that meet ENERQUALITY certification standards. Company partner and co-owner Trevor Mailloux accepted the award on behalf of the builder.

ENERQUALITY-certified homes must undergo independent performance verification, including blower door testing to measure air tightness and overall efficiency. Testing for Maple City Homes is conducted by A&J Energy Consultants.

According to recent results, the company recorded the top blower door test score in Southern Ontario for February.

“This recognition reflects the dedication of our entire team and our trade partners who work hard to build homes that are both beautiful and highly efficient,” said Mailloux.

“ENERQUALITY is proud to present the Rising Star of the Year award to Maple City Homes – an emerging industry leader helping shape the future of high-performance housing,” said Joe Vaccaro. “Maple City Homes stood out for their strong commitment to energy-efficient construction and their rapid expansion within the ENERGY STAR® for New Homes program. Their ability to consistently deliver high-performance homes reflects their leadership and forward-looking approach that is advancing the industry.”

Maple City Homes builds new residential communities throughout Chatham-Kent.
