Chatham-Kent Police Service say they will provide an update Friday morning after taking the lead in an ongoing investigation in Erieau.
In an update Thursday, Sgt. Lynette Rosina of the Community Mobilization Section said police are working with those involved.
“We would like to advise that the Chatham-Kent Police Service has taken the lead in the Erieau incident. We are currently in communication with the family and is diligently working to gather all necessary information for an update. We will provide an update on the situation tomorrow morning. Thank you for your understanding.”
Earlier in the day, at 12:53 p.m., police issued a public advisory warning of an increased presence on Mariners Road due to an ongoing investigation.
Officers said there was a significant emergency response in the area and asked residents to avoid the location and use alternative routes to allow emergency crews to work safely.
Police said the matter remains under active investigation and no further details will be released at this time.
