Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 28-year-old woman from Chatham suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night at the intersection of McNaughton Avenue East and Taylor Avenue.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at approximately 8:32 p.m. on May 26. Police said the collision involved a single vehicle and a lone pedestrian.
The injured woman was transported for treatment, while the 66-year-old female driver from Chatham was not injured.
Due to the severity of the collision, the Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Management Unit took over the investigation, resulting in the temporary closure of the intersection. The roadway has since reopened.
