Brights Grove resident charged after traffic stop in Plympton-Wyoming

OPP officials allege: A 41-year-old Brights Grove resident is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop in Plympton-Wyoming.

The Lambton County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police said officers were conducting general patrol shortly before 3 a.m. on May 24 when they initiated a traffic stop on Lakeshore Road near Blue Point Drive.

As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old Brights Grove resident was arrested and charged with operation while impaired — alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired — blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

Police said a 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were also initiated.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on June 15, 2026.

The OPP said it remains committed to removing impaired drivers from roads through enforcement and public education, adding that drivers should not operate vehicles after consuming alcohol or drugs.
