Blenheim man charged after alleged intimate partner violence incident

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 37-year-old Blenheim man is facing multiple charges following an alleged intimate partner violence incident early Wednesday.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a report of a family dispute at a Blenheim residence at about 12:32 a.m. on June 24.

Police allege a 33-year-old woman was assaulted by means of choking. Investigators also allege the accused uttered threats to the victim and prevented her from leaving the residence.

A second victim, a 24-year-old Blenheim resident, was also allegedly assaulted by means of choking during the incident.

The accused was arrested and charged with two counts of assault, two counts of assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats to cause death and forcible confinement.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent police headquarters and remained in custody pending a bail hearing.
