Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 49-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing a charge after refusing to provide a breath sample during a traffic stop Tuesday night.
A Chatham-Kent Police officer conducted a traffic stop on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg at approximately 10:15 p.m.
During the investigation, the officer developed grounds to suspect the driver had alcohol in his system and demanded he provide a breath sample into an approved screening device. The driver refused to comply and was arrested.
He was charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
The man was released on an appearance notice with a future court date of September 15, 2026.
