With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Anna Vitek who passed away on September 2, 2026, reuniting with her beloved husband Martin on his birthday. Born 95 years ago in Toledo Ohio to the late Joseph and Anna (Roman) Bacik. Loving wife to the late Martin Vitek. Devoted mother to Brian (Gisele) Vitek, Judy (Mike) Regan and Cathy (the late Ed) Coke. Cherished grandmother to Jason (Heather), Justin (Allison) and Wayne (Allison) Vitek, Lisa (Devin) Richardson, Nicole (Tim) Rac, Lee Coke and the late Kelly Regan. Great grandmother of Kenah, Nash, Ryan, Samantha, John, Alex, Kacie, Jaiden, Miranna, Camilla. Sister to the late Mary (John) Mikush and Helen (Jim) Jones. Sister-in-law to Sadie (the late Jerry) Kusalik, Jerry Vitek, Steve (Betty) Vitek, Frances (Ken) Pelkey, Susan (the late Grant) Nead and Beatrix Vitek and the late John (Annie) Vitek. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Anna’s biggest passion was her family. She was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved making traditional Czech food and pastries. They loved listening to Czech music on Sundays from Cleveland and also enjoyed many events at the Czech Hall in Dresden and Chatham. Anna will be deeply missed.
Many thanks to the staff at the Oak’s Retirement Village, Dr. Hastings, and the Emergency Department staff at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Wallaceburg for all their kindness and compassion shown to Anna in her final days.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 1-4 PM at the Knights of Columbus, 800 Murray St., Wallaceburg, Ontario.
