Chatham man charged after breaching probation order

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham man has been charged after allegedly attending a residence he was court-ordered not to attend.

On Tuesday at approximately 8:02 a.m., members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an address on Jefferey Street regarding a breach of probation incident. Through investigation, police learned that a man had attended a residence on Jefferey Street that he was on court-ordered conditions not to attend.

As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old Chatham man with no fixed address was arrested and charged with failure to comply with a probation order.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.
