Get your broomsticks ready. A Witch’s Walk is coming to downtown Chatham on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 3 to 5 p.m., with proceeds and donations supporting the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre.
The event is a collaboration between Mrs. Bell’s Tea Room, Art & Heirloom, and Turns and Tales. Everyone is invited to dress as a witch or warlock and join in the afternoon of walking, shopping, treats and community spirit.
Participants will register and begin at Mrs. Bell’s Tea Room, where witch-themed treats will be available. Cash, cheques made payable to the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre, or personal hygiene items such as shampoo, conditioner, and body and face lotion may be donated at this location.
From there, participants will walk to Art & Heirloom, where they can browse and support local artisans, before continuing to Turns and Tails for judging, a signature drink and other refreshments. Judges from the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre will select the costume winners, with a grand prize package valued at $200.
The walk will then return to Mrs. Bell’s, completing the festive downtown loop.
Organizers are encouraging people to come dressed in their best witchy or warlock attire, bring friends and walk for a good cause while supporting local businesses and artisans.
Registration for A Witch’s Walk takes place at Mrs. Bell’s Tea Room, 241 Grand Ave. E., Chatham.
