Walpole Island First Nation Council is reminding residents that Public Works’ fall cleanup week will be held from Oct. 5 to Oct. 9.
Residents are asked to have items to be picked up at the end of their driveway or by the road.
Restrictions remain in effect, as they were during the spring cleanup, meaning no hazardous materials, propane tanks, tires, brush, empty paint cans, entrails from fish or fowl, car batteries, or anything flammable or combustible will be collected. Tires and empty paint cans can instead be dropped off at the Public Works department.
Residents with refrigerators or freezers are asked to make sure the doors are off or tightly secured to prevent accidents or injury.
The crew will be out all week, so if items are not picked up on the first day, residents are asked to leave them out, as they will eventually be collected. Anyone with questionable items is asked to contact the Public Works office.
