The Salvation Army Chatham-Kent Ministries is once again running its Operation Cover Up program, collecting and distributing coats for the community as cooler weather sets in.
Under the 2026 program, residents with gently used or new coats can drop them off during the collection period, Oct. 13 to 23, at 46 Orangewood Blvd. in Chatham, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3:30 p.m., or at 600 Lowe Ave. in Wallaceburg, Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
Residents in need of a coat can visit the same two locations during the distribution period, Nov. 2 to 6.
The Salvation Army says collection and distribution is only available in Wallaceburg and Chatham, and those in outlying areas of Chatham-Kent are asked to visit the location nearest to them. Selection of coats will be limited to what is donated specifically for the program and available only while supplies last.
