Moore Agricultural Society celebrates $117,900 OTF grant for Harvest Hub at Brigden Fairgrounds

The Moore Agricultural Society, home of the Brigden Fair, celebrated a $117,900 Capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation on Friday that transformed a storage building into the “Harvest Hub.”

MPP Bob Bailey met with society representatives to mark the occasion.

“I’m delighted to join the Moore Agricultural Society in celebrating the opening of the Harvest Hub, made possible by a generous grant from the Ontario Government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation,” said Bailey, MPP for Sarnia-Lambton. “Upgrading the existing building to create a multi-use year-round venue is a fantastic initiative by the Moore Agricultural Society, and I’m certain the Harvest Hub will become a well-used resource in the Sarnia-Lambton region.”

Awarded in July 2025, the grant allowed the society to upgrade a basic structure built in 2024 through fundraising. The society installed LED lighting and venting to conserve energy and reduce costs, and the building was insulated and lined with steel to make it a multi-functional space.

“The impact of this OTF grant cannot be overstated,” said John Scott, president of the society. “Thanks to this grant, we’ve been able to make critical upgrades which will ensure the building remains functional for years to come.”

The fairgrounds host weddings, showers, funeral receptions, banquets, 4-H achievement days and entertainment events, and the society is part of the township’s emergency response plan as a warming and cooling centre.
