The Lambton Kent District School Board Trustees have approved revised boundaries for A.A. Wright and H. W. Burgess Public Schools in Wallaceburg for September 2014.
D.A. Gordon Public School in Wallaceburg will close as of June 30, 2014 with Kindergarten to Grade 6 students reassigned to A.A. Wright and H.W. Burgess Public Schools based on the new boundaries. The Grade 7 and 8 Students will attend Wallaceburg District Secondary School.
Parent/Guardian and community input was obtained through the Transition Committee Meetings. It was determined that a natural geographic boundary would make the most sense for the community over the long term. D.A. Gordon Public School students who live north of the Sydenham River will attend H.W. Burgess Public School September 2014 and D.A. Gordon Public School students living south of the Sydenham River will attend A.A. Wright Public School September 2014. No other changes were made to the existing boundaries for H.W. Burgess Public School or A.A. Wright Public Schools.
Kindergarten registration is occurring in the LKDSB schools this week. JK students who would normally attend D.A. Gordon Public School should register at D.A. Gordon Public School.
The next meeting of the Transition Committee is scheduled for March 26, 2014 at H.W. Burgess Public School.
