What’s on tap for March Break?

Next week is March Break for the majority of Chatham-­Kent, and there are quite a few activities on hand for this coming week if you are looking to entertain the young ones on their days off:

All Week:

– Wallaceburg District Musuem has ongoing activities Monday to Friday. They will be showing a different movie each day of the week starting at 1:30 p.m., and will be open 10 a.m. to ­4 p.m. Cost is $1 per child and they must be accompanied with an adult.

– The Sydenham District Pool has an assortment of options for free swims and open swims! Here is the complete schedule.

– Kids eat free at Crabby Joes from March 15-­22.

– The Wallaceburg Library has an on-going competition next week in order to guess the number of items in the jar. They will also continue their “Celebrate Silliness” month which is an opportunity for children to bring in jokes, riddles, and tongue twisters to add to their display.

– The St. Clair College Capitol Theatre is holding a March Break Program from March 16-20. The cost of the event is $175 for the week and is intended for children ages 5-12. For more information visit: www.stclaircollegecapitoltheatre.com.

Day Programs:

Tuesday:

– Dresden Library is having a Seussical Sleepover taking place all day, showcasing what happens in the Dresden Library at night.

– Wallaceburg Library is having a Cat in The Hat day, between 2 p.m. and ­4 p.m. children ages 6-­14 have a chance to do some wacky hat decorations.

Wednesday:

– ­The Wallaceburg Library and The Dresden Library are having an event that allows kids to make their own lego stop motion videos running from 10:30 a.m. to ­12 p.m. Registration is required which can be done at the front desk of either Library.

– ­The Dresden Library is also hosting a fun reading of Green Eggs and Ham at 10 a.m.

Thursday:

­- The Wallaceburg Library will be having a Paddington Bear tea party. The event will be at 2 p.m. for ages 3 to 12. To reserve your spot call 519-­627-­5292

– ­The Dresden Library will have an oportunity for kids to decorate their own Dr. Suess foxes. The event begins at 1 p.m.

Friday:

– ­The Dresden Library will be having a “One Fish, Two Fish” event allowing children to colour and design their own fishes this will be an all day event.

– ­The Wallaceburg Wellness Centre is holding an event called “Give me A Break Art Workshop”. The event is intended for ages 7-­12 and will take place from 10 a.m. to ­12 p.m., and for ages 13-­18 the event will be from 1 p.m.­ to 3 p.m. The cost will be 18 dollars per child, unless you have multiple children in which case you can attend the event for 15 dollars per child. The event will be a focus on getting children to embrace their creativity, and all materials will be provided. For more information and to register, visit www.wallaceburgwellnesscentre.com.

– ­St. Andrews Church in Dresden will be holding a free movie night at 7pm. The movie will be “The Letter Writer”.
