A Wallaceburg councillor and a long-time advocate for Wallaceburg’s hospital is busy preparing for a presentation in front of the Ministry of Health.
Jeff Wesley said he wants to show the Ministry and the Minister of Health the strong local support for Sydenham District Hospital.
“The purpose of this meeting is to make a pitch for SDH and a final resolution for our hospital.”
Wesley, who also the Chair of Sydenham District Hospital, is meeting with the Ministry of Health, in Toronto at the end of the month.
“I stated that one of my main goals was to push for a final resolution to an issue that has concerned this community for far too long,” he said.
“I am asking the communities served by Sydenham District Hospital… community leaders, groups, businesses and residents alike, to write letters in support of the hospital.”
Wesley said he is hoping people send the letters to jeff.wesley@chatham-kent.ca, send a message to the SOS committee through saveoursydenham.com or drop them off at Wallaceburg’s downtown radio station.
“We need as many letters of support as possible by May 22,” Wesley said. “All of which will be submitted to the Ministry and Minister of Health during my meeting.”
