Dresden’s Chris Clements has been released from the UFC.
The welterweight fighter made the news official on social media Friday evening.
“Unfortunately I just got notice that I have been released from my UFC contract,” Clements wrote. “(I’ll) always be proud knowing that I accomplished my goal of making it to the UFC. Pretty (bad)Â deal getting cut after only (one loss), which I did them a favour by taking a short notice fight and it has left me on the injured list ever since.”
Reports say Clements is one of approximately 50 fighters being trimmed from the UFC roster.
Clements was on the wrong end of a unanimous decision at UFC 186 in Montreal back in April, losing a unanimous decision to Nordine Taleb.
The loss dropped Clements’ record to 12-6 overall and to 2-2 in the UFC.
