The Municipality of Chatham-Kent Public Works Department is preparing for a heavy snowfall over the next 24 hrs.
The current weather forecast indicates a snowfall accumulation of 10 cm by the morning of March 2, 2016.
The municipality of Chatham-Kent is asking for the public support to minimize the parking of vehicles on municipal streets overnight.
Emergency vehicles, citizens and local businesses all depend on streets and roads to be clear for passage.
This action is requested to enable snow ploughs to clear away the snow as safely and efficiently as possible.
A parking ban has NOT been declared under Chatham-Kent (traffic and parking) by-law 245-2004, section 218.02 and 218.03.
This may still be invoked if the snowfall is heavier than forecasted.
