James Solomon of Dresden

James_Solomon0000001ASOLOMON: James Alvy, age 88 of Dresden passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus.

He was born in Chatham Township son of the late Daniel & Hazel (Richardson) Solomon. James was a member of the First Regular Baptist Church, Dresden. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Kathleen (Handsor) Solomon, daughters: Peggy Tomby (Albert Coppe) of Dresden, Susan Solomon of Chatham, Patty Melo (Jorge) of Mississauga and Sherry Sims of Chatham, sons: James Solomon of Dresden and Paul Solomon (Wendy Campbell) of Chatham, 7 grandchildren: Jason Tomby, Rebecca Tomby, Danny Melo, Sonia Melo, Nicole Solomon, Derek Solomon and Naomi Sims, 3 great grandchildren, sister Beatrice Scott of Wayne, Michigan, brother Wilfred Solomon (Jean) of Dresden, dear Uncle Pee Wee to a host of nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sisters: Mildred Brooks, Gertrude Simmons, Florine Simmons, brothers Clifford Solomon, Terrance Freeman, infant twins Marvin & Melva.

Visitors will be received at the Thomas L. DeBurger Funeral Home, 620 Cross St., Dresden on Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 12 – 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Doug Wright officiating. Interment in Dresden Cemetery.
