Not only do the firefighters at Station #6 in Dresden help keep the community safe… they’re also helping do some of Mother Nature’s work as well.
Before the community got a sprinkle of rain on Wednesday, the firefighters went through Dresden and provided some water for the plants, flowers and vegetation in the downtown core of the community earlier this week.
“I asked them a week or so ago if they could help us out with a new planting of milkweed plants, which they did,” said Lynda Weese, of the Dresden Horticultural Society.
“(Tuesday) night I was delighted to see they were giving everything in the parkland a much needed drink. We can’t thank them enough.”
Environment Canada officials say June was one of the driest months in recent years.
