Morning Coffee – By Aaron Hall

2nd annual Wallyfest is around the corner

The Wallaceburg & District Chamber of Commerce will be working in conjunction with local organizations, like the Wallaceburg BIA, to offer Wallaceburg’s second annual WallyFest.

“After a very successful first year, we want to offer an event that not only showcases the many, fabulous, small businesses in this area but also offers the families in our community a fun-filled afternoon right here in Wallaceburg,” stated Tammy Chouinard, marketing and membership coordinator for the Wallaceburg Chamber.

This outdoor event will support many of our members and other downtown merchants as they will be encouraged to open their doors and offer special deals exclusive to this event.

Downtown restaurants are also being encouraged to open their doors to offer patio space to their customers as James Street will be closed off for WallyFest.

The Chamber is also recruiting other local businesses, both brick & mortar located outside of the downtown area and home-based, to set up as a vendor for $35-45.

Additionally, the Chamber will have local organizations selling food and beverages and an appearance from the Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services which will provide fire safety tips and truck tours.

The Chamber will be offering a Kid’s Zone which will feature an obstacle course, inflatables, face painting and a variety of carnival games.

Lastly, the Chamber will be supporting the Wallaceburg BIA’s Farmer’s Market.

It will also run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This market will be exclusively offered to those who sell from local crops and create products that are naturally and locally grown.

If you are interested in being a vendor at this event and/or would like more information about WallyFest 2017, contact the Wallaceburg Chamber office at 519-627-1443 or email info@wallaceburgchamber.com.
