Many students at Lambton-Kent Composite School didn’t come to school in the usual fashion on Friday, June 6 – as Tractor Day was held at the Dresden school.
Mike McGrail, a teacher at LKCS, said 22 tractors were lined up on the school grounds, for what has turned into an annual event.
“We started out with a couple tractors the first year, 12 last year,” he said. “We have a lot of students that live on farms and are proud of it. It’s a fun way to showcase that here at school.”
McGrail said the tractors ranged from classic 1950s tractors to brand new ones.
A barbecue was held for local Grade 8 students from the LKCS feeder schools.
It was also a fundraising barbecue, with the proceeds going to the sports field project for LKCS.
