Disturbance call in Chatham leads to assault charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 11:47 a.m., police responded to Keil Drive South in Chatham for a disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers learned a man and woman engaged in a verbal argument.

The argument escalated when the man assaulted the woman.

The woman was able to leave the situation and call the police.

The 30-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of May 27, 2024.

He has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault, and uttering threats.
