The Chatham-Kent Local Immigration Partnership (CK LIP) is hosting the first “commUNITY connections” Forum to promote the importance of successfully welcoming and integrating newcomers to the Chatham-Kent community.

Participants will hear personal stories of newcomer journeys to settle and live in Chatham-Kent, and learn about some of the organizations working to meet their needs. Join us as we hear from Ontario Trillium Chair and one of the 2014 Newcomer Champion Award Winners, Dr. Devkumar Sainani, as well as a panel of local newcomers and settlement workers, and participate in the CK LIP Service Fair.

“Newcomers bring valuable contributions to Chatham-Kent which helps to sustain and strengthen our community,” says CK LIP Project Coordinator, Victoria Bodnar. “The “commUNITY connections” Forum will highlight the diverse needs and experiences of newcomers to Chatham-Kent and demonstrate the role that all stakeholders play in welcoming them.”
February 11, 2015, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Club Lentinas, 250 National Road, Chatham.
Register by February 1, 2015, by cklip@chatham-kent.ca or 519-354-0430.
