Rejean Hermel Perron

Toronto Police have made an arrest, after a woman was held captive for five days and repeatedly sexually assaulted.

Police say the suspect in the case – Rejean Hermel Perron, 43, of Toronto – has links to Chatham-Kent and could have more victims.

Reports say the incident is being described as a “ritualistic” attack on the woman, who works in the sex trade industry.

Toronto police officials say it is alleged that on Tuesday, March 31, a 27-year-old woman was approached by a man in the Sherbourne Street and Shuter Street area.

Police say the man produced a firearm and brought the woman to a residence in the Dundas Street East and Jones Avenue area and prevented her from leaving.

“The man sexually assaulted the woman, with a weapon, multiple times,” police officials said. “The man held the woman captive for five days. The woman was able to escape and reported the incident to police.

Perron was arrested on Monday and charged with:

– Sexual Assault with a Weapon

– Kidnapping

– Forcible Confinement

– Assault

He was scheduled to appear in a Toronto courtroom today.

“Police believe there may be more victims,” officials stated.

Reports say Perron has lived in Toronto for 10 years, but is originally from Timmins, Ontario. He has also spent time in the Chatham and London areas.
