A greenhouse operation in Chatham is looking to give away some tomatoes.
Truly Green Farms has an over production of tomatoes this year, and although the owner has already contacted local food banks, there is still a lot of tomatoes that will be dumped in landfill if they are not used.
They are free for the taking – by the carton or skid.
While people can come by the greenhouse operation at 162 Bloomfield Road in Chatham and pick up what they need, the owners are hoping that some people can take away 100 to 300 lbs. at a time, for canning.
