A Chatham man faces a future court date after being charged with sexual assault.
On July 19, 2016 just before noon, a local woman in an electric scooter was stopped in the area of St. Clair Street and Thames Street in Chatham.
A man, riding his bike, stopped to talk to the woman, who was unknown to him.
During their conversation, he physically touched her in a sexual manner.
The woman was able to flee the area.
Upon returning home, police were contacted.
Through investigation, police identified the man responsible.
Yesterday morning, the 65-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with sexual assault.
He was released pending a future court date of August 10, 2016.
