Police have laid charges after a crash back in July just outside of Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent police officials say on July 16 around 12:30 p.m. emergency crews responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Swan Line between Baldoon Road and Border Road.

The driver was travelling eastbound on Swan Line when he lost control of his van, left the roadway, rolled and came to rest in a farmer’s field.

The 36-year-old Wallaceburg man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Sydenham Campus where he was stabilized for transport to the London Health Sciences Centre.

Yesterday, the Chatham-Kent Police Traffic Unit completed their investigation and the man was charged with careless driving and failing to properly wear a seatbelt.

He will be required to attend court on December 21.
