Walpole Island Santa Claus Parade on Saturday

Santa Claus is coming to Walpole Island First Nation on Saturday.

The 25th annual Santa Claus Parade will take place December 3 at 5 p.m.

The ‘Walpole Island Volunteer Elf Association’ is having a special ‘Evening of Lights’ during the parade.

The theme this year is ‘A Snowy Christmas’.

The route begins at Walpole Island’s school and will proceed down to the Walpole Island Sports Complex.

The line-up for parade floats begins at 4 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to put a float in the parade, but in order to be eligible for prizes, people need to register by contacting Marcia Peters or Ashley Simpson by calling 519-627-2263 by December 1.

Prizes will be awarded for:

– Programs and departments

– Businesses

– Community groups

– Families

People are encouraged to wing by the Sports Complex at the conclusion of the parade to meet Santa and his elves.

Soup, cookies, fruit, hot chocolate, candy bags for children 12 and under, and visits and photos with Santa will be available.

The prize winners will be announced, along with the winners of ‘Santa’s Bag of Toys’ draw and the Toonie Toy raffles.
