Windsor’s Meaghan Kehoe has been crowned as the winner of the 2016 Homeward Star Search singing contest.
Kehoe received the most points from the judges on Friday night at the finals, which were held for the 11th annual competition at the CBD Club in Wallaceburg.
“A big thank-you shout-out to our sponsors, contestants, judges, audiences, and of course the CBD,” said Early Holley, one of the event organizers, on social media.
“It takes a huge team to put something like those contests together and I’m thankful for every one of you.”

– First Place Winner ($1,000, sponsored by Homeward Realty) – Meaghan Kehoe
– 2nd Place – Aubrae Kehoe ($500, sponsored by Langstaff Construction)
– 3rd Place – Steve McElrae ($250, sponsored by Step-by-Step Renovations)
– Kelly Peters Love Of Music Award Winners – Leslea and Paul Roesch
– Ladies’ Peoples’ Choice – Erin Ferreira
– Men’s Peoples’ Choice Winner – Don ‘The Chicken Man’ McLean
The competition consisted on five weeks of qualifying rounds, two semi-final rounds and the finals held on December 3.
