Wallaceburg’s Tye Belanger was the 1st Star for the Vancouver Stealth on Saturday, as they won their first home game of the season, 13-9 over Saskatchewan.

Belanger started his fifth straight game making 55 saves, including 20 in the final 15 minutes.

“I’m still numb after that game, but it is so nice to get that win for the fans and celebrate in front of the home crowd,” Belanger told stealthlax.com.

“You get in the zone, you get in a rhythm, you know, I just got in front of the ball and the first thing I was thinking was sending it up the floor.”

Belanger finished with three assists on the night, and he almost scored a goal.

“I got three assists but I absolutely should have gone one (goal) and three (assists) tonight, but I missed the empty net. Honestly though, I am just glad we got our fourth win of the season.”

Fellow Wallaceburg resident Jordan Durston scored two goals for the Stealth.

Durston has 10 goal and 9 assists so far this year in 10 games.

Vancouver is tied with Calgary for last in the NLL West Division with a 4-6 record.
