Kings beat first place Canadiens

The Dresden Kings upset the first place Lakeshore Canadiens 4-3 in OT on Friday, erasing a three goal deficit along the way.

Dresden scored three straight goals in 1:20 stretch in the third period to force overtime.

Will Tetzlaff scored a pair of goals for the Kings, and Darien Davis also scored.

Kevin Ritzer was the hero in overtime, scoring at the 1:17 mark of the extra frame.

Brendan Johnston made 35 saves for the win.

The Kings are now 7-4-1-0 on the season, which is good for a tie for 4th place in the West Stobbs Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League.

Dresden will be in Petrolia on Thursday, before hosting Essex on Friday night.

Both games start at 7:30 p.m.

Lakers lose to Blades, gearing up for ‘pink’ game

The Wallaceburg Lakers lost their 8th straight game on Sunday, losing to the Blenheim Blades 9-0.

The Lakers are 0-3-0 since new coach John Hartig Sr. took over the head coaching duties for the club.

Wallaceburg hosts Mooretown on Wednesday at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena.

Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

This Wednesday’s game is their annual “Pink the Rink” contest.

All pink jerseys worn that night will be auctioned off during the game, with all proceeds being donated to ‘The Breast Buddies’.
