Racing charges laid in ‘snow packed’ St. Clair Township

A pair of stunt driving were laid on the weekend in St. Clair Township, while OPP officers were patrolling the snowy roadways.

Lambton OPP officials say on February 4, 2018 between 11:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. a member of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was performing routine traffic duties on both 40 Highway and Kimball Road within the Township of St. Clair.

At this time the County of Lambton had been experiencing significant snowfall, strong winds and snow packed roadways, OPP officials say.

During this time period the OPP located two motor vehicles that were allegedly travelling on 40 Highway and Kimball Road that were travelling in excess of 50 km/hr in posted 80 km/hr zones.

“That’s right; more than 130 km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone. Ridiculous,” OPP officials said in a press release.

Both male drivers, 27 and 31 years-of-age were charged with racing and had their vehicles and drivers licences seized for seven days.
