Tartans top Titans in boys hoops, eyeing the playoffs

The Wallaceburg Tartans junior boys and senior boys basketball teams both topped the Tilbury Titans on Monday night.

In senior action, the Tartans won 57-19 over the visiting Tilbury squad.

Eric Powers led the way with 23 points, while Gabe Namink chipped in with 10 points. King Altiman chipped in with 8 points.

The senior team has a 6-2 record on the season, good for a tire for third in the LKSSAA Tier 2 division.

The Tartans wrap up the regular season on Thursday, when they travel to Blenheim to face the Bobcats. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.

The Tartans will then face the undefeated LCCVI team on Thursday, February 15 in the LKSSAA ‘AA’ playoff final.

The game gets started at 7 p.m.

In junior boys play, Wallaceburg won 31-22 over Tilbury on Monday.

Rain Day scored 9 points to lead the Tartans, while Marcell Gordon and Zander Williams added 6 points apiece.

The Tartans have a 3-4 record on the season and sit in sixth place in the LKSSAA Tier 2 division

The juniors will also wrap up the regular season on Thursday, when they travel to Blenheim to face the Bobcats. Tip off is set for 5 p.m.

They will also face LCCVI in the the LKSSAA ‘AA’ playoff final
