A Wheatley man faces fraud charges after an incident on Sunday in Chatham-Kent.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege yesterday afternoon, a man attended Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham and selected a truck cover from the automotive section.
Police say the man allegedly took the item to the front of the store, where he attempted to ‘return the item’ using a receipt from the previous day from Walmart in Wallaceburg.
Police were notified and the man was arrested.
The 25-year-old Wheatley man has been charged with fraud under $5,000.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The value of the truck cover was approximately $70.
