Domestic disturbance leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on May 20 police attended a residence in Wallaceburg in regards to a domestic disturbance.

Police allege at this time, a woman reported that she had been assaulted and threatened this past weekend by her common-law husband.

Through investigation, she further disclosed that she had been the victim of domestic abuse over the past year.

Yesterday morning, the 39-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with domestic related offences dating back to 2017.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
