The Dresden Kings doubled up the Wheatley Sharks in their 2018/2019 season opener on Wednesday night in Wheatley.

The final score was 4-2 in favour of the Kings.

Nolan VandenBoorn scored a pair of goals to lead the Kings, while T.J. Saunby and Elijah Duquette also scored.

Brett Brochu made 23 saves to earn the victory in net. He was also named the team’s player of the game and earned the chance to wear the coveted ‘Fireman’s Helmet’.

The Kings will host the Petrolia Flyers on Friday night in their home opener in Dresden.
