Police: Counterfeit bills, MVC, impaired driving

Counterfeit charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 1 p.m. on April 6, a 50-year-old man attempted to pay for his purchases at Value Village in Chatham with a counterfeit $100 U.S. bill. Police attended and as a result the man was charged and released with a future court date.

Warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 6, shortly after 8 a.m., a 25-year-old male turned himself in at police headquarters. The male was arrested on the outstanding warrants and released on a future court date.

Impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 7 pm, police received reports of a man operating his ebike on Richmond Street in Chatham who was observed weaving on the roadway. The male driver was located and arrested for impaired driving and as a result of breath tests he was also charged with Over 80. He was later released on an appearance notice.

Motor vehicle collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly before 9 p.m., a car struck a motorcycle on King St. W Chatham. The driver of the car left the scene, losing his front licence plate in the process which was recovered at the scene by police. There were no injuries and the 30-year-old male driver of the car was later located and charged with Fail to Remain at the scene of a collision and Careless Driving.
