Bail and probation violations in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 7:33 a.m., police responded to Wellington Street West in Chatham for a trespassing investigation.

Officer located two men on the property.

One man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for bail violations.

The other was moved along.

The 32-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.

He is currently facing the following charges: failing to attend court, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 10:35 a.m., police responded to King Street for a probation violation investigation.

Upon arrival, officers learned the man attempted to contact a person listed on a communication prohibition condition.

The man was located a short distance away and arrested. Upon a search incident to arrest, the man was found in possession of ammunition.

The 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

He is currently facing the following charges: possession of a firearm/ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and five counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 4:05 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on a woman walking on Murray Street in Chatham.

Officers located the woman and confirmed she was wanted on an outstanding warrant in a mischief investigation.

The 30-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was held pending a bail hearing.

She is currently facing the following charges: theft, resist arrest, two counts of mischief, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
