Mrs. Helen Labombard R.N., formerly a resident of Port Lambton, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Riverview Gardens, in Chatham, at the age of 93.
Helen was born in Chatham and is predeceased by her mother Augusta (DeBruyn) Scheerlinck, her father Jean Baptist Scheerlinck, her brother Edward Scheerlinck and the father of her children.
Loving mother of Mathew Labombard and the late John Labombard.
Dear grandmother of Cameron (Heather) Labombard (great grandson John), Carla (Reid) Allen (great granddaughters Skylar and Jade), Lori (Kyle) Labombard (great granddaughter Lilly), Christopher (Michelle) Labombard (great grandson Isaac).
Helen will also be missed by her friend and companion Russ Jones.
Helen graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Chatham in 1952. Following graduation she worked as an RN at St. Joe’s in Chatham until Sydenham District Hospital in Wallaceburg opened where she worked as head nurse in the O.R. for 20+ years. Upon retirement from nursing, she joined her then husband in Dean Jewellers where she worked for 24 years.
Arrangements entrusted to the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg. A private family service will take place.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Heart and Stoke Foundation may be left at the funeral home.
