Outdoor pools set to open July 2 in Chatham-Kent, SummerFest being held in July & August

Chatham-Kent residents can look forward to a refreshing summer as CKRecreation outdoor pools are set to open on July 2, 2024.

Thanks to generous sponsors, CKRecreation is offering free rec swims all summer long at all seven outdoor and two indoor Municipal pools.

The fun doesn’t stop there – SummerFest is also back throughout all of July and August, Municipal officials say.

“We are thrilled to offer a variety of free community programs to the residents of Chatham-Kent again this summer,” said Amy Wadsworth, Manager Recreation Services and Community Engagement, in a press release.

“We hope that families take advantage of these opportunities to get outside, have fun, and connect with their community.”

As part of the SummerFest series, CKRecreation will be hosting beach days in Erieau and Mitchell’s Bay every Saturday and Sunday throughout July and August from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The CKRecreation Summer Squad will be on hand to help run activities with lots of beach toys and activities for kids.

SummerFest also introduces weekly Party in the Park throughout July and August.

Start the night with a fun community party followed by a free rec swim.

Party in the Park will visit Chatham, Blenheim, Tilbury, Wallaceburg, Ridgetown, Dresden and Thamesville.

Additionally, SummerFest includes Play Rangers at Kingston Park, which will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday throughout July and August.

The Play Rangers bring unique and engaging equipment and toys ensuring fun for all ages.
