Two NHL prospects with local ties were mentioned in a letter sent out by Vancouver Canucks GM Mike Gillis.
Thamesville’s Dane Fox and Rodney’s Bo Horvat, who has family in Bothwell, were both mentioned in a letter Gillis sent out to season ticket holders with the club, after they traded goalie Roberto Luongo during the trade deadline and continue to struggle this season.
“We believe in our talented group of prospects,” Gillis wrote. “Who will be part of our short and long-term success.”
Fox and Horvat were both mentioned as a couple of the clubs top prospects.
Fox was signed earlier this year to the team as a free agent, and Horvat was drafted to the club last year.
Fox has 62 goals and 101 points for the Erie Otters this season, while Horvat has 28 goals and 71 points for the Memorial Cup bound London Knights.
