Chatham’s Derek Whitson won’t be bringing home a gold medal from the 2014 Sochi Paralympic Gmaes.

The United States blanked Team Canada yesterday in the semi-finals, 3-0, sending Canada to the bronze medal game.

Canada will now face Norway tomorrow morning for bronze.

The U.S. will face off against Russia for gold tomorrow at Noon.

Whitson said on Facebook that he is proud of his teams effort.

“Canada! Your support has been incredible! We might have fallen short of our goal but we still would like to thank you not only with words but with action. We are proud Canadians that will never give up! We will give everything we have to bring home the bronze!,” Whitson wrote.

Puck drops at 5 a.m. for the bronze medal game.
